
Mr. Maroulis was the founder, President and Managing Director of CB Private & Commercial Banking of New York Metro, Chicago and Washington DC at Customers Bank and an Executive Vice President of Customers Bancorp, Inc. (NYSE:CUBI) . Mr. Maroulis was also a voting member of The Office of the Chair and a voting member of the bank’s Executive Management, Executive Strategic Initiatives, Asset and Liability, Disclosure and Credit Committees.
Mr. Maroulis is a bank executive with over 30 years of bank and business experience most recently developed and implemented a bank strategy that generated in only four and one-half operating years at a startup division more deposits than 94% of all banks in the US. He has over 15 years of successful and innovative executive experience building bank assets and deposits and managing people. He created new business lines and developed, implemented and managed the adherence to, bank credit and operational policies.
Prior to NYSE:CUBI, Mr. Maroulis served as Group Director and Senior Vice President at Signature Bank. He held client facing and management roles at Bank of America’s Global Commercial and Investment Bank, FleetBoston, Citibank and The Dime Savings Bank of New York.
Mr. Maroulis studied Political Science and Economics at Columbia University and earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Digital Business from Emeritus Institute of Management in collaboration with Columbia Business School Executive Education and MIT Management Executive Education. He is an active President’s Circle member of the Economics Club of New York and founder of inner-city focused Musical Instrument Learning for Kids (milkusa.org). He is a mentor, panelist judge and speaker at UC Berkeley’s The Pantas and Ting Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology Bootcamp, and he was a mentor, speaker and inaugural panelist judge at The Kingdom of the Netherland’s Orange Grove incubator in Athens, Greece, respectively.
