
Ms. Wang is a leader in global entrepreneurship and innovation and heads up MG-Team, LLC, a consulting firm focusing on entrepreneurship and innovation programs. She is an Industry Fellow & Faculty at UC Berkeley’s Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship and Chair Emeritus of the VLAB (formerly MIT/Stanford Venture Lab), and on the advisories board of Mobility Ventures, iGlobe Partners and others.
Gigi is a frequent conference speaker and conducts entrepreneurship/innovation workshops for start-ups, corporates, incubators, and universities around the world, along with offering biz dev services to help companies scale. Gigi’s clients have included SAP, RockStart Accelerator (Amsterdam), HongKong Cyberport Incubator, Amsterdam Center for Entrepreneurship, Shanghai GM (auto-maker in China), Lagadere (France), Samsung, Runa (acquired by Staples, Oct 2013), Happy Farm (Ukraine), IDEPA (Asturias, Spain), and more. She has mentored and advised hundreds of of start-ups from around the world.
Previously, she was SVP of Marketing for July Systems, a mobile start-up with customers like AT&T and Electronic Arts. She was CEO and co-founded AsiaQuest, providing market entry services for companies entering Asia. She started the International Carrier Marketing group and lead VOIP Product Marketing for Ascend Communications (acquired by Alcatel-Lucent).
As an Internet pioneer, she launched the TRUSTe Internet privacy program in 1996 and started up Pacific Internet in Singapore (IPO on NASDAQ in 1999), along with doing technical sales at AT&T. Gigi holds BS & MS in Mech Engineering from Stanford University where she was President of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, and she holds a MBA from the UC Berkeley’s Haas School of Business.
