
Mr. Rebatta is a former bank executive with over 40 years of banking experience. His most recent role in banking was President and Chief Executive Officer of Alma Bank, where he was actively engaged in the application and capitalization processes for a de novo New York State commercial bank charter. Mr. Rebatta also led the expansion effort into New Jersey by applying with the NJ Banking and Insurance Department. Alma Bank under Mr. Rebatta’s leadership, attained profitability by the end of the first year of operations despite adverse market conditions. Moreover, as a result of Mr. Rebatta’s efforts Alma Bank’s enjoyed an excellent relationship with the FDIC and other bank regulators during his tenure.
Mr. Rebatta, began his banking career in the securities department of Atlantic Bank of New York in 1971. He later migrated to the bank’s commercial banking division where Mr. Rebatta was installed as Vice President of Commercial and Industrial Lending (VP C&I). In his roll as VP of C&I, Mr. Rebatta heavily contributing to the bank’s $1 billion in assets growth. Mr. Rebatta was recruited by Interbank of New York, a community focused commercial bank and in 1995 he joined Interbank as Senior Vice President. Soon afterwards Mr. Rebatta was promoted to Executive Vice President and in this capacity, he increased the bank’s capital base by over 395% and returned the bank to profitability. Mr. Rebatta’s efforts resulted in the creation and realization of significant shareholder value.
Mr. Rebatta is a co-founder and Chairman of Soul of the Peruvian Andes (SoPA), a volunteer-run 501(c)(3) charitable organization dedicated to improving the quality of life in his native Andean region of Peru. According to the United Nations’ income measure, the area’s extreme poverty is the norm and living conditions are sub-standard even for developing nations. SoPA recruits health professionals (doctors, nurses, dentists, optometrists, etc.) from around the world to volunteer their time to service the immediate healthcare needs of the Andean region’s inhabitants, which in serious cases include surgical operations. SoPA, under Mr. Rebatta’s leadership, is creating a platform for addressing the long-term healthcare needs of the inhabitants through education and by building and maintaining desperately needed infrastructure.
Mr. Rebatta was formerly credit trained by Pimley & Pimley of New York on Credit Analysis. He earned a Master in Business Administration in Corporate Finance from Long Island University and a Bachelors of Science degree from City College of the City University of New York.
